The history behind LEGO

LEGO was developed by the Danish Ole Kirk Kristiansen back in 1932. At that time, he started with wooden toys, which became very popular. After growing popularity, he came up with the name LEGO. This is a combination of LEG and GODT (meaning "play well" in Danish). The company grew and began to implement strategies and product development. This proved very successful. In 1949, the first plastic brick was launched. But it did not look like the one we know today. It was not until 1958 that the iconic design was created. LEGO keeps up with the times and today also makes computer games and mobile games.

Since then, LEGO has grown, and today we all know the story of LEGO. This is partly because it has existed for so long. Grandparents and parents have likely also played with LEGO and passed the toys down. LEGO constantly develops new products, and the assortment keeps expanding. It has also become a huge hit to collect LEGO. Some collect the very old and retro LEGO. Others collect huge ships they can assemble. So it has also become a hobby for many.
