Most people know BRIO - probably the parents, grandparents, and likely even your great-grandparents. BRIO is not a newly established company. The company dates back to 1884, when Ivar Bengtsson and Sissa Persdotter began producing woven baskets. In 1902, they (and the company) moved to Osby.
The company was growing, and product development began. Among other things, they launched wooden toys, for which Brio is still very well known today. The family's sons took over the company, and it was renamed "Bröderna Ivarsson, Osby" - from which "Brio" became the abbreviation.
As product development continued, the company kept growing - and vice versa. This meant that the target group for the company became larger, and more people recognized the company's potential.
BRIO is still very well known today. However, they are mostly known for their toys for children, including the famous BRIO train. BRIO no longer has its own operations in Osby but is spread across several locations worldwide.
Today, there is also a focus on children's learning through toys. This can be seen in the range, which includes construction toys. Here, the child can learn about life from their own perspective.
This is part of the reason for its popularity and why many parents choose to invest in BRIO for their children.
