The huge popularity of LEGO minifigures led LEGO in 2010 to introduce a dedicated series only with minifigures. This became LEGO Minifigures or Collectable Minifigures, as they are also called.

The first LEGO Minifigures series was launched in May 2010. A new series is released approximately every 3 to 4 months. Each series consists of 15-16 different figures. The series have different themes - and are sometimes based on various events.

Over 200 different Minifigures

More than 200 different LEGO Minifigures have been released. In series 10, there is a limited number of gold figures (Mr. Gold). The figure is – like all other LEGO minifigures – made of plastic, but it is sold on eBay for between 1,000 and 2,000 USD – so it might as well be real gold.

LEGO Minifigures are delivered in a small polybag (plastic bag), and the special thing about the bags is that you cannot see in advance which LEGO figure is inside. The minifigures are very special and are not part of regular LEGO sets, despite possible similarities. New sets are continuously released in the LEGO Minifigures category. Simpsons minifigures - the most popular minifigures series ever

In 2014, 16 different minifigures based on the beloved Simpsons cartoon series were released. In this series, you get all the beloved characters from Springfield. The Simpsons minifigures series was sold out by LEGO even before the first figures hit the stores. Since then, a new Simpsons minifigure series has been released and can still be found in selected stores.
