Mattress topper with U-split for adjustable beds

A U-split mattress topper is designed for double adjustable beds where the head ends need to be adjustable individually. The split is placed in the upper part of the mattress topper, while the rest of the topper is joined. This makes it possible for one person to raise the head end without the other side necessarily following.

The U-split model also preserves a continuous lying surface further down in the bed. You can find U-split mattress toppers in, among others, memory foam, latex and models with bamboo-related materials.

At HOME-TEX.com you can find U-split mattress toppers in several sizes:

  • 160x200 cm with U-split
  • 180x200 cm with U-split
  • 180x210 cm with U-split

Always measure the bed's width and length before choosing a mattress topper. The split must also match the construction of the adjustable bed so that both head ends can move freely.

If the adjustable bed has movable sections in both the head and foot ends, a H-split mattress topper may be the right solution. This model has a split in both ends so each side can be adjusted more independently. Therefore, check the bed's construction before choosing between a regular mattress topper, U-split and H-split.

Extend the life of your bed with a new mattress topper

A good mattress topper can improve your sleeping comfort and at the same time help extend the life of the bed. The mattress topper is placed on top of the bed's mattress and serves as the top comfort layer. It can change the feel of the bed, so the surface becomes softer, more supportive or better suited to your preferred sleeping position.

At HOME-TEX.com you will find a wide selection of mattress toppers from brands such as Borg Living and Zen Sleep. The range includes models for different bed types and sizes, including single beds, one-and-a-half person beds and double beds.

Our mattress toppers are available in heights of 5 cm, 6 cm and 8 cm. The height affects how noticeably the topper changes the overall comfort of the bed. A higher model usually contains more material, while a lower topper can be a good choice if you want a smaller change to the bed's current feel.

A new mattress topper can be relevant if the existing bed still provides good support but the surface no longer feels comfortable. It can also be used to adjust a new bed if the mattress feels a bit too firm or too soft. However, a topper cannot correct a worn-out mattress that has lost its fundamental support.

Choose a mattress topper according to your needs

When choosing a mattress topper, you should base your choice on your sleeping position, body weight and the comfort you prefer. If you often sleep on your side, a pressure-relieving surface can be comfortable around the shoulders and hips. If you mainly sleep on your back, you may benefit from a model that combines support with an even sleeping surface.

It is also important to measure the bed's width and length. The mattress topper must fit precisely to the mattress underneath so it lies stably and does not move beyond the bed's edges. Also check the product's height if your current sheet or your mattress protector needs to be used together with the new mattress topper.

Materials for different kinds of comfort

Mattress toppers are made in various materials that affect support, temperature and the feel against the body.

Material properties can vary between models. Always check the product description for information about core, cover, firmness and care.

Remember the mattress protector

A mattress protector is placed on top of the mattress topper and just under the sheet. It protects against sweat, moisture, dirt and daily wear, making the mattress topper easier to keep clean. Since the mattress protector can be removed and washed, it also contributes to a more practical and hygienic sleeping environment.

We recommend using a mattress protector regardless of the type of bed, mattress or mattress topper you have. Choose a size that fits precisely to the bed's measurements. For adjustable beds, the mattress protector should have the same type of split as the mattress topper so all layers can follow the bed's movements.

Mattress protectors are available in different materials. A cotton model is a classic and breathable choice, while silk can be relevant if you want a light and temperature-regulating quality. Always follow the washing instructions so the mattress protector retains its shape and protective function.

Find the right sheet for the mattress topper

When the mattress topper and mattress protector are in place, the sheet must fit the bed's overall construction. If you have a mattress topper with U-split, you should choose a U-split sheet so both sides of the adjustable bed can be raised and lowered independently without the sheet tightening or shifting.

A U-split sheet has an opening at the head end and is therefore developed for adjustable beds where only the upper part of the bed moves individually. If your bed instead has splits at both the head and foot ends, you should choose an H-split sheet that follows both movable sections.

The correct division gives a better fit and reduces the risk of wrinkles, loose fabric and a sheet that is pulled crooked during use. Therefore always measure the mattress topper's length, width and height before choosing a model. You can also read our sheet guide if you want help finding the right type of sheet.
