What is a box fitted sheet?
A box fitted sheet is a fitted sheet designed to fit around box mattresses and spring mattresses on your bed. The sewn corners and the elastic edge ensure the sheet fits snugly around the mattress and stays in place even when you move during the night. This gives a smooth and comfortable sleeping surface and a neat, well-made appearance.
At HOME-TEX you will find box fitted sheets in many sizes, materials and colors. Whether you have a single bed or a double bed, you can find a sheet that matches your measurements and your comfort preferences.
If you have a mattress topper on top of the mattress, you can also choose a box fitted sheet with sufficient height so that it wraps both the mattress and the topper. This gives a neat, uniform look and ensures the sheet stays where it should.
The box fitted sheet is therefore a practical choice for everyday use, as it helps protect the mattress from daily wear.
How to choose the right size box fitted sheet
For the best fit you should choose a box fitted sheet that matches the mattress width, length and height. Measure the mattress before you order. If you have a topper, remember to include its height if the sheet should cover both mattresses.
A sheet with the correct height will stay in place better around the mattress. If the sheet is too low it can pull tight at the corners, while a sheet that is too high can sit loose and create folds.

Choose the material that suits you
Material greatly affects comfort. At HOME-TEX you will find box fitted sheets in, among others, cotton, cotton satin, bamboo, cotton flannel and organic cotton. Each material has its own properties, so you can choose the quality that best fits your preferences.
- Cotton is a classic choice that is soft, durable and comfortable to sleep on.
- Cotton satin has a smooth surface and an exclusive appearance.
- Bamboo feels soft against the skin and has a light, pleasant quality.
- Cotton flannel is a warm and soft quality, particularly suitable for the cooler months.
- Organic cotton gives the same comfortable feel as classic cotton and is a popular everyday choice.
What does TC mean when you choose sheets?
When you look at sheets you may sometimes encounter the term TC. TC stands for Thread Count and describes how many threads are woven together per square inch of fabric. In short, the number indicates how tightly the fabric is woven. A higher TC generally means a denser weave, which can affect whether the sheet feels light, smooth, dense or more compact.
A sheet with a high TC will often have a finer and smoother surface because the threads lie closer together in the weave. This can give a pleasant and luxurious feel, especially when the sheet is made from good quality cotton or another soft textile.
TC is not the same as fabric thickness, however. A sheet with a lower TC can still feel substantial if it is woven from thicker yarns or has a higher fabric weight. Conversely, a sheet with a high TC can be light and fine when made from thin threads. TC should therefore not be the only factor when assessing a sheet. The material, the weave and the overall quality are at least as important for comfort.
Protect the mattress even more with a mattress protector
If you want to take extra good care of your mattress, we recommend using a mattress protector under the box fitted sheet. The mattress protector shields against moisture, dirt and daily wear and can help extend the mattress's lifespan. At the same time it is easy to remove and wash, which makes it easier to keep the bed fresh.
Advantages of a box fitted sheet
- Fitted design to match the mattress.
- Stays in place around the mattress.
- Provides a smooth and comfortable sleeping surface.
- Available in many sizes, materials and colors.
- Can be used over both mattress and topper if the height fits.

Complete your bed with the right comfort
Once you have found the right box fitted sheet, it may be a good time to look at the rest of the bed. If your duvet or pillow has begun to lose shape, support or loft, replacing them can improve comfort during the night. The right duvet affects how warm or cool you sleep, while the pillow should suit your preferred sleeping position and provide the support you need.
At HOME-TEX you will find duvets in different warmth classes so you can choose a model suitable for the season and your personal needs. A summer duvet is a light choice for the warm months, while a winter duvet provides extra warmth when the temperature drops. If you prefer to use the same duvet most of the year, an All-season duvet can be a practical solution with more balanced warmth.
Bedding also has a major impact on both the feel against the skin and the overall look of the bed. At HOME-TEX you will find bedding in different materials, colors and designs so you can choose a solution that matches your box fitted sheet and the rest of the bedroom. That way you can create a bed where comfort, function and style naturally come together.
Explore our selection of duvets, pillows and bedding if other parts of your bed need updating. It makes it easy to gather the products you need and create a comfortable and inviting sleeping place.
