The Oilcloth Guide

We are happy to cut the number of whole metres you need - just remember to calculate the overhang for both ends of the table before you order your tablecloth.
We recommend an overhang of 25 cm for each end of the table.

How to Order Oilcloth by the Metre

  1. Choose the tablecloth that you like. If you click on the image, you can see the tablecloth in a larger view.
  2. Enter the desired length in the quantity field.
    For example: If you order a quantity of 1, you will get 1 metre.
  3. Once you have chosen the tablecloth and the number of metres, press 'add to basket'.
  4. Your new oilcloth is now in the shopping basket, and you can continue shopping on the site.
You can also buy many of our oilcloths in whole rolls of 5, 10 or 20 metres, which is very convenient. They come rolled on a cardboard tube. With extra metres at home, it's easy to replace your tablecloth if needed, or have extra metres for a matching cloth for your coffee table.

Maintaining Your Oilcloth

Food and drink can easily be wiped off the tablecloth with a damp cloth. Some foods, like curry or tomatoes, can discolour light-coloured tablecloths and should be wiped off immediately with a damp cloth. Oilcloth cannot withstand having hot plates, cups, pots or dishes placed directly on them, so we recommend using placemats and coasters.
Oilcloth cannot be washed in the washing machine. They do not withstand high temperatures, and therefore cannot be ironed or steamed.

Good to Know

When storing the tablecloth, we recommend rolling longer tablecloths up on a cardboard tube to prevent creases. Do not place the tablecloth on a damp table, as it will trap the moisture. If the tablecloth has folds, most can be straightened by using a hairdryer on low heat. Hold the hairdryer approximately 30-40 cm from the tablecloth and slowly warm it with repeated side-to-side movements, while smoothing the fold with your hand. The tablecloth must not become too hot, as it can get damaged. You can also place the tablecloth directly on the dining table and let it settle into place.

You can expect the size of your tablecloth to be extended by up to 5 cm. As an additional service, we cut the tablecloth to allow room for adjustment at the ends. This means you may receive a tablecloth that is slightly longer than the desired length.
