Borås Cotton is more than bedding and sheets

Borås Cotton has for more than 100 years been one of Scandinavia's leading producers of textiles for the home – and that extends far beyond just bedding and sheets. Although their bedding in particular is very popular, it is not the only thing they do. They have also increasingly focused on home accessories.
The brand's strength lies in the combination of classic Scandinavian design, high quality and functional materials created to make your home both stylish and comfortable. You can see this in their range of bedding and home accessories. With Borås Cotton home accessories you can complete the style in your home with various decorative elements such as storage bowls, soap dishes or toothbrush cups – all with a raw, stony expression. Since the various home accessories are often made of stone, you will find that they are of very good, robust quality. The rustic look can give the bathroom more edge and really add personality.

Durable and practical home accessories from Borås Cotton

Borås Cotton produces bed sets of high quality and they draw inspiration from the Nordic nature and the changing seasons. With Borås Cotton you get quality and exclusive style in your bedroom. Borås Cotton is known for manufacturing their products in fantastic quality and their home accessories are no exception. They manage to combine functionality with aesthetics, so it is both durable and practical in everyday life, but also looks nice in your bathroom with its raw, Scandinavian expression.
Borås Cotton has focused on making their home accessories in a more timeless design so they can adorn any home. There are several design advantages such as:
  • Scandinavian minimalism: clean lines and discreet details that fit any home
  • Harmonious colors: neutral and calm colors that match their other products
  • High-quality material choices: glass, ceramic, metal and cotton – materials that can withstand daily use
  • Thoughtful details: small decorative elements like patterns that create an elegant overall impression
Borås Cotton also has split sheets for your adjustable bed in several sizes. Sheets with H or U split are used for toppers on adjustable beds. It is important to buy a Topper fitted sheet in the right size and quality so it does not shrink or become misshapen after washing.

Borås Cotton - bold and exciting designs paved the way

Borås Cotton is a Swedish textile company founded back in the 1870s by Borås Wäfveri. He began weaving Swedish fabrics there. Around 1900 the company had 400 looms producing cotton and wool-blend fabrics. From there it accelerated – and Borås Wäfveri over the following decades acquired spinning mills, dye houses and print shops to expand the company. In the beginning, fashion textiles were particularly popular, but over time home textiles also boomed – which also meant that textile artists began to influence what was printed.

Around the sixties and seventies the world really took notice of Borås Cotton thanks to Inez Svensson and Sven Fristedt. This was mainly due to the exciting and bold patterns seen in their designs. With dedication and good marketing through their subsidiaries around the world, Borås Cotton became world-famous and rapidly grew in popularity.
But as more textile companies emerged, the competition also became tougher. This had a big impact on Borås Cotton – and the company almost disappeared globally – except in Japan. A Japanese company visited Borås Cotton in the seventies and it resulted in a very important collaboration. Such a strong partnership that Borås Cotton is now almost more famous in Japan than in Scandinavia.
